Catching up.
Been a while.
Hello,
It’s been a while. And while there are saved drafts at various places in my notes and laptops I never had the bandwidth to edit and post them. It has more to do with the motivation to write something, anything, than time.
I always feel there is time for everything just that we lose motivation mid way. And this year I’m lagging behind so many promised milestones that I feel now, how does it even matter.
More so I’ve always been a pen and paper person and this year I don’t think I’ve truly jotted down anything. Anyway, enough of ranting. Most of this procrastination can be attributed to shifting places, whenever I move places (which has been a lot of time in my career in the services of 8 years attributed to various factors like shifting states, leaves etc.) I lose the rhythm that I had built around my work and personal life.
Thank you for being patient and thank you to some of you who so sweetly reach out and nudge me to fill my part of the commitment. It is for you that I’m getting back because then I have insurmountable guilt to pick up and write something.
I’ll definitely write on a mid year review of all my new year resolutions and I should better align it with my relaxed state of being this year.
I’m happy that I’ve read much more this year since last many years, but I’ve also entered into a major reading slump because of some novel that I picked up which I absolutely did not enjoy and then couldn’t pick up another book post that. And now I have a whole bunch of them that I have to finish because I had enthusiastically overestimated my reading time and borrowed a bunch from the library.
Moving on, I’ve travelled a bunch of times to Delhi this year for some meeting or another and it has made me immensely happy everytime I go there. Since I’ve had the happiest of times in Delhi during my college days, being in the city even in sweltering heat makes me happy like no other place. Thank god that I did not ruin the Delhi experience by mixing it with UPSC preparation, otherwise that would have been the last thing I would remember of the place so dear to me - incredible amount of toil!
I’ve taken a keep and obsessive interest in gardening post my visits to Lodhi gardens and sunder nursery in Delhi.
Obsessive to the extent that I now watch gardening videos, makes duty bound notes from them, have amazon cart filled with gardening equipments, I also count the plant leaves even, hoping for new spring and get obnoxiously bitter if a plant is dying and off late also find the monkeys to be my nemesis since they destroy the flowers :( what is this obsession!!! Sometimes I’m even dreaming of plants.
Does that happen to anyone?
Ill try an be regular, fortnightly atleast with my newsletters. Hopefully I should stick to this mid year resolution and pique your interest too :)
