Moving Places.

Hello,

How have you been?

It’s been really a while that I could just sit and jot down my thoughts at one place. The reason being that I’ve joined a new assignment and hence the impending change of place has taken longer than expected to get to a routine.

Everything is new and as usual settling in is taking its time. It takes approximately 3-4 months to get comfortable to a new position and so I’m still in my learning phase.

And the new place being Shimla, where the cold never seems to settle, the body is also taking its sweet time to adjust to the new climate.

Days are running into weeks with a blink of an eye. My everyday routine of waking up, exercise or even reading isn’t as it was a month back and right now I am not even trying to get back to that. I am just trying to settle in and getting used to the new place and the associated work.

The only thing I’m missing currently is the pleasure of walking in the sun as by the time I leave the office the sun is almost setting and the chill starts to set in early.

But mind you, Shimla has the most beautiful sunsets.

It’s been a little more than 2 years for me in the hills but still I feel a little lost when it comes to surviving in the cold.

I am hoping for it to get pleasant by April.

My weekends also aren’t the usual anymore because I am mostly travelling to and fro with regard to the shifting. So let’s see when things will finally settle in and I can hold a paint and brush in hand or read for pleasure.

Currently I have picked up a light read on the kindle on the suggestion of a senior. It’s been a week since. I’ve already misplaced a book because of frequent movements in a day and hence in guilt I’ve transitioned to kindle for a bit.

A few of the people misconstrued a recently shared picture on Instagram of a library as my personal library. Someday I intend to have an elaborate library but that one was the secretariat library in Shimla and its one of the best ones I’ve seen with the head librarian himself an avid reader who makes all the efforts to ensure that the latest collection is on the shelves.

Sometimes I sneak a little time for myself to sit in the library and do some work which is the best place to work in my option with the view of the mountains on one side and the sheer quietness. The coffee served here is also a pleasure to the taste buds.

I have always fancied a library and can keep on writing about this, Do you fancy any such thing in particular?

Anyway, enough for now, I’ll get back to where I was on my desk.
