Hello,
I hope you had a good week.
Well, the week is still left and there is the final World Cup cricket match to look forward to tomorrow.
I’ve not really watched all the cricket matches, but I guess I’m excited about tomorrow’s because everyone’s talking about it.
I read Mistress of Spices recently by Chitra Divakaruni and found it to be a decent read. And the fun fact that I found out was that there is also a movie based on the title starring Aishwarya Rai.
I’ve picked up all of the author’s old works from the Shimla library and I am trying to brush through them mostly because I have loved her recent collections.
These days I’m reading another of her titles which is The Conch Bearer. Yet Another one of her works on magical realism. And that’s my Sunday plan along with ofcourse watching the final match that we’ve planned up in a special way.
Moving on, How was your Diwali ?
We had a lovely family time followed by a quiet dinner. This was the first time in years I got myself to do a simple rangoli. In my school days I used to participate a lot in rangoli competitions usually organised around the time of Diwali.
Also this the time to light up so many Diya’s and candles and lights that would light up the house Atleast till new years :)
It’s also the time to socialise with your neighbors and relatives and to catch up on everything that one otherwise doesn’t find the time to talk about.
This is also the time when one treats oneself to an unfair amount of sweets.
These days because of all the work travels and it getting specially so cold I haven’t been able to keep up so much with physical exercise as I would like to. Waking up early morning is a task that I find difficult to keep up everyday.
I like the pleasant winters but December here is extremely cold which I’m dreading.
Do you like the winters ? Does it get chilly at the place where you are ?
Sharing a few of my favourite pictures from the past week.
