The week that was.

Been a while.

I hope you had a good week.

Did you get a chance to see the recommendations I gave in the last newsletter, was it of any use ? Tell me so that I can include such type of content in future as well.

Now, First of all I’d like to apologise for not writing the last weekend. It was specially because I was in a no-network zone and my mood was also such that I did not want to use much of the phone as one rarely gets to be that way. Does it happen with you as well?

The only time when I was not using a phone regularly was perhaps during my preparation days.

Thank you for reaching out, some of you messaged me on Instagram regarding this. I didn’t think many of you even read it regularly. So it was quite surprising for me.

Anyway, this was my birthday week too, so we sort of had an early vacation, though it wasn’t linked to it and was totally planned last minute.

Birthday on a weekday is really like any other day and specially because I have entered my 30s also.

Does age have anything to do with excitement on the birthdays? I’m not quite sure because I have never really enjoyed the day even as a child because there is too much “pressure to enjoy”.

The only good part are the “birthday wishes” through which you get to connect to friends with whom may be you haven’t spoken in a long while. So I made sure that I connected instantly to whoever remembered me that day.

Are you someone who gets excited or you’re gloomier than usual on your birthday?

So on the 13th, I had a relatively longer than usual work day ending in a quiet meal at home. A perfect day!

I’ve been quite successful to waking up early these past 2 weeks because I’m on bed before 11pm. And I am truly loving my mornings.

This year I’ve made a birthday resolution list too, something like the New Year’s resolution list which is also made by yours truly, every year. This year it was quite successful in terms of following up with the yearly resolutions and hence I thought I’ll do the same on my birthday too, sort of offering course correction while there are a few months left for the year to end.

I am so happy that finally I’ve succeeded in fulfilling the one New Year’s resolution that been there on my list since college days that is to wake up early. Earlier than 7 am may be to be precise. I have some fetish with the idea of waking up early. Do you have any?

I have never enjoyed the nights, even during my UPSC mains exam days I used to doze off maximum by 11pm leaving the vast set of revisions to the next day. It is to that extent that I detest the darkness of the night. First of all I’m always tired at night and then my mind always switches to negativity. I am at my creative least at unlike many others who are their creative best at night.

Anyway, I’ve had quite a lot of travel the past week personal and otherwise so I’m still recovering and also getting fatigued at the same time. Inspite of me now being in the hills for almost 2 years, I am still not used to the hair pin turn of the roads that we have here.

Moving on, I am currently reading “Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin. Have you read it?

I’ve been seeing that a lot of people were really appreciating this book and finally my kindle app prodded me to read this as per my choice of reading list. I’m still at the initially chapters, so do let me know if you have already read this one and your views about it.

P.S. Even though it was just a 2 day visit, I’ll write about some of the places that I visited, which might interest you.
