Nicely described.. the best part is "pressure to enjoy". Mam I also entered my 30s this year. Best way to celebrate is to stay in calm and happy place with our loved ones. I am a mother of baby girl trying hard to achieve my dreams and goals of UPSC. I am done with my syllabus but very confused about the optional. If you can advice me in this regard then it would be of great help.
I totally agree with the part where you said birthdays are occasions that expects one to be happiest about, I don't think the excitement really exists when one gets older. Its just like any other day and perhaps the gloomiest day of all!
Hello ma'am ! I can't describe how much I look forward to these weekly reads. It's one of the best parts of the whole week. I had a query to ask about or perhaps a suggestion from you . I find it really hard to keep reading a book consistently along with the portion of syllabus I've to complete . I love books but I've to study as well. So , there's this battle between two things i struggle to balance out. Please help me with this :-)

I chose my optional the same as my college degree. I was fresh out of college then.
For other subjects I have no idea, plus it’s been a couple of years since I wrote so I may not be able to give the best advice.
okay mam.
with regards

I’m glad there are others who feel this way. 😊

There is no balance, you will have to prioritise studying over reading till the time you are preparing for exams.
You can instead shift to reading books that would also help in preparing in non-fiction genre ofcourse. :)
